lyrics

Stone will crumble

It’s just after midday and I’m walking through the gothic architects
Felt eyes upon me those crazy archangels resting on their iron wings

It’s a cold one and I’m trying to keep myself out of the wind
But the buildings they are like funnels so I slip inside St. Peters to save my burning skin

And then the voices of the choir
Make me forget I’m still a troubled man
And I sit alone and contemplate eternity
While I wait to feel the warmth return to my hands

I’m just a young man trying to figure out why I lost my confidence
I’m cold from my heart caving in and I don’t know if I’ll ever care again

This old cathedral will still be here when I am good and gone
But Stone will crumble
Everything that ever was is gettin on

I’m just a young man trying to figure out why I’m always going wrong
I’m down from my heart going south and I don’t know how I’ll ever move along

And then the voices of the choir
Make me regret the crudeness of my goals
And I sit alone and think about all that giving up
While I wait to feel the warmth within my soul

I’m just a young man I’m trying to figure it out and find my confidence
I’m cold and my heart’s caving in and I hope that I can somehow care again

Then I realized it all just comes from my head and it doesn't matter what instrument you play. You can be a virtuoso silver spoon player and not even know it. Just pick up some spoons and give it a try ... more
